Automatic scale
An automatic scale is a scale that determines the weight of an object automatically and without operator intervention. It enables continuous weight measurement in automated processes and is specifically designed for high throughput rates.
Automatic scales are used in conveyor systems, DWS systems, sorting centers, and production lines. The material to be weighed is automatically fed into the scale, weighed, and then transported further without interrupting the material flow. Depending on the application, automatic scales can be designed to be calibratable and can transmit weight data directly to ERP, WMS, or transportation management systems. They form an essential foundation for automated logistics and shipping processes.
Practical example:
As packages are transported via a conveyor system, an automatic scale automatically determines their weight and transmits the measured values directly to the DWS system.
