In logistics and automation environments, user management is a key component of IT security. It defines roles, permissions, and responsibilities in systems such as ERP, WMS, TMS, or plant control systems. Structured assignment of permissions prevents unauthorized changes, ensures that processes are documented in a traceable manner, and supports the secure use of networked systems.

Practical example:

A plant operator is granted only the permissions required for their task in a DWS system, while service technicians can use additional functions for diagnostics and maintenance.
