In logistics and automation environments, access rights are a key component of IT security. They are managed through user roles and authorization models and ensure that employees can access only the information and functions necessary for their tasks. This protects sensitive data, prevents unauthorized changes, and ensures that digital processes are traceable.

Practical example:

A service employee is granted defined access rights for a DWS system that allow them to perform maintenance functions, while changes to system settings are reserved exclusively for administrators.
